SEE: The collection comprised of blush technical parkas adorned with trailing roses and floor-length ribbons, distressed silver leather biker jackets and lace dresses in pale hues. As for accessories, Rocha introduced a collection of leather handbags inspired by cake boxes, in black, cream, nude and oxblood. Handcrafted beaded bags also made an appearance, perfected by subtle ribboning. Behind the material, lays, at times, a collection of dried roses which offer the silhouettes subtle volume with elegant artistry.
Fresh pink roses peered out from beneath layers of tulle, crumpled rosettes adorned pristine white shirts complemented by ceremonial sashes, and dresses flaunted bell-shaped skirts that swirled with grace. Rocha herself explained, "The installation was my interpretation of the Little Ark of Kilbaha," referring to a mobile church in 19th-century Ireland where beachgoers congregated when the tide receded. SS24 collection danced gracefully between contrasting textures, seamlessly transitioning from dry, papery fabrics, including frosted nylon for balloon-sleeved windbreakers, to the lustrous elegance of duchess satin.

Neither designer is a stranger to tulle, and whether it was trimmed for ruffled bloomers or flourishing on the skirts of dresses, it had a great impact, as shown on a closing sweep of gowns. One with a buckled bodice and tulle skirt, one in Rocha red, a pistachio-hued strapless balloon gown and an off-shoulder taffeta dress with rosettes along its neckline were particular favourites.
Alongside her signature, more glitzy approach to fashion — this season included crinkly gold ensembles, detachable sailor collars made of gems and beads, and baggy lace shirt and trouser combos — Rocha had stuffed dried raffia which gave the illusion of straw into the crevices of dresses, implying an overflowing and a simultaneous connection with the land.
Rocha put actors on her runway this season, most of them Irish — like her — although they were difficult to differentiate between run-of-the-mill models. I feel delicate and romantic but also very strong and fierce and like everyone should be scared of me.
